Closure of Museum due to provincial COVID restrictions

Update: June 2, 2021

The Canadian Museum of Nature continues to remain closed to the public, in accordance with the most recent public health directives announced by the Government of Ontario.

We now expect to reopen in late July, as part of Step 3 of the government’s phased reopening of the province. We look forward to welcoming back visitors when the closure ends – in a way that continues to provide both safe access to the museum as well as a healthy experience for visitors and staff.

Please follow the museum’s social media channels, or subscribe to the museum’s newsletter for updates. Visit nature.ca/explore for online activities, games, virtual tours and informative videos.

If you have questions, please email questions@nature.ca or phone 613-566-4700.

April 1, 2021

The Canadian Museum of Nature is closed until further notice in response to COVID restrictions announced by the Government of Ontario.

The museum will continue to follow guidelines from the Ontario Government, the federal Public Health Agency of Canada, and Ottawa Public Health.

The new online Virtual Workshops, which can be reserved by classes across Canada, will continue as scheduled. Animal care, and other essential services, will also continue throughout the closure.

Those with advance ticket reservations will receive an automatic refund.

During the closure, visit nature.ca/explore for at-home, nature-themed activities including games, colouring pages and crafts, as well as virtual tours of our galleries and other fun facts about nature.

For updates, please visit nature.ca or follow the museum on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
