Maidenhair fern is a woodland plant. This fern needs to be watered regularly, especially in dry warm weather, but it's well worth the effort. The tender green leaves contrast attractively to the thin black stems. The effect is airy, lacy, absolutely enchanting! And it stays handsome from spring to autumn. The stems are used to make black designs in woven baskets. Discover other native plants on the Web site of the Canadian Museum of Nature. |
