Silver maple, Acer saccharinum S75-4503.    Silver Maple
 Acer saccharinum

Ten of the 150 known species of maple grow in Canada: bigleaf, black, Douglas, Manitoba, mountain, red, silver, sugar, striped and vine. At least one of the ten species grows naturally in every province. Long commercially, environmentally and aesthetically important, maple trees are particularly valued for their wood, sap and beauty. The maple is Canada's arboreal emblem, and its leaves have become the country's most recognized symbol.
